After decades of rumors (my cousin’s neighbor's aunt swore one was coming in 2004), Chick-fil-A has finally opened in Glasgow! Yesterday, our BCHS JROTC cadets proudly raised the flag for the very first time at the new restaurant, and today, Mrs. Burton's and Mrs. Thompson's students made a breakfast field trip to check out the new location. What a fun way for our students to be part of Glasgow history! Thank you for including us in your opening day festivities, Chick-fil-A!

Our Dirt to Dish Program is in full bloom thanks to Barren Beyond the Bell Coordinator Gracie Ray. Students at North Jackson Elementary harvested crisp, fresh lettuce from their Tower Garden and the very next day they enjoyed it with their lunch!

Nothing tastes better than food you’ve grown yourself and you can see it in their smiles.

Yesterday was a big day at Red Cross Elementary! Fourth-grader Jackson Farmer tried out the Jackson 1 Beta Hand, a custom 3D-printed prosthetic hand that STEAM Lab Teacher Scott Johnson designed and built just for him! This project has been months in the making, inspired by a conversation with Jackson's mother and brought to life through research, design, and collaboration with the incredible global E-Nable community. We are so proud of the innovation happening right here in Barren County Schools and even prouder of Jackson’s determination, courage, and smile, which remind us why we do what we do.
